Kevin O’Connell has over 25 years’ experience of school governance, within the Infant, Primary, Middle and Secondary sectors of education in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Kent, Norfolk and Suffolk. He is passionate about education whilst supporting students within their learning, enabling them to develop into successful young adults. Kevin had a career as a professional musician and taught drums to students throughout Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Kevin is also the Link Governor for Safeguarding at Ormiston Sudbury Academy.
Cheryl Morgan
Cheryl has three grown up children all of whom attended the Academy’s predecessor school, Sudbury Upper, in the 1990s. Cheryl was a Governor at the school for eight years during that period and now, with her grandchildren attending Ormiston Sudbury Academy, she has returned to the Governance Team, whilst also being Chair of Governors at Long Melford Primary School. Outside of school life, Cheryl spent 16 years working for Suffolk Police as Station Clerk while also volunteering for the Suffolk Youth Offending Team. Cheryl is passionate about giving children the best school experience and education possible and is committed to working with OSA’s Governing Body to achieve this
Di Murray
Di Murray has wide ranging experience varying from her early career in the Foreign Office to public relations, event organisation and teaching; both in further education and for children with special educational needs. Di has served on various charitable committees, volunteered at a refugee camp and organised fundraising events.
Peter Murray, OBE
Peter Murray founded Ormiston Trust in 1969. The trust now supports thousands of young people and their families throughout the UK. Ormiston Families has grown to become one of the largest providers of support services to children and families in the East of England. Ormiston Academies Trust is now a major multi academy sponsor. Peter has knowledge of the voluntary sector, strategic planning and financial management and is Link Governor for Key Stage 3 at Ormiston Sudbury Academy.
Shaun McKenna
Shaun joins Ormiston Sudbury Academy with over 30 years of professional experience within the Engineering, Property and Facilities management industry. Working in both the Public and Private sectors, supporting clients such as National Trust Historical Buildings, UK Parliament & Local Government, NHS Estates and Nuclear Power Industries with environmental and sustainability governance.
Shaun is an advocate of Industry Apprenticeships and a promoter of mentoring the next generation of engineering service providers.

Emma Price
Emma trained in Cambridge as a science teacher in 1995. Having worked in Essex and Hertfordshire as a science teacher, she started at Sudbury Upper School in 2006 as a Food teacher, progressing through Head of Department, Head of Faculty as we opened as Ormiston Sudbury Academy, Assistant Principal and now Vice Principal and Designated Safeguarding Lead. Emma has lived in Suffolk for over 20 years and has two children who have progressed through state education in Suffolk. Emma is passionate about children gaining an holistic education and experience whilst at school, leaving with not only the qualifications they need to succeed but also a broad and empathetic knowledge of the world around them.
