It has come to our attention that a planned road closure has been approved which will likely affect traffic to and from the Academy, via York Road. From the Suffolk County Council’s ‘Roadworks Finder‘ facility and the latest update on an issue shown on Anglian Water website’s ‘Report (or track) an Issue‘ map, it would appear that this may be required in order for them to replace a sunken/damaged drain cover that they have previously worked upon.
Confirmation of the Babergh approval granted for the road closure is displayed on the Causeway One website ( here ) as part of the interactive map of current and planned road closures.
Staff/parents/visitors to the Academy (as well as other homes located in the area) are likely to be directed to use other local roads as alternatives during the period of the closure.
This road is the one currently used by our buses for exiting the Academy after its morning drop off and afternoon pick up – and it is not known exactly what alternative route/arrangements MAY be required for these, as the nearby alternative routes are likely to be too small (or turns too tight) for easy use/access by buses.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE ROAD CLOSURE AND ANY ASSOCIATED RE-ROUTING IS LIKELY TO CAUSE CONSIDERABLE ISSUES FOR TRAFFIC FLOW, WHICH ARE ENTIRELY BEYOND THE CONTROL OF THE ACADEMY; your anticipated patience and understanding with Academy staff, bus companies/drivers and Anglian Water workers, is very much appreciated.
Thank you
